Fume Control in Iron & Steel Industry

Iron and steel production is characterized by high temperatures, heavy metallic dust, and toxic fume emissions. MDSJ Process offers specially designed fume capture and filtration solutions for EAF and BOF facilities.

Application Areas

  • Electric arc furnace (EAF) primary and secondary fume capture
  • Induction furnace emission control
  • Continuous casting line vapor and fume control
  • Rolling mill scale and dust collection
  • Foundry sand and metal dust filtration
Frequently Asked Questions

Iron, Steel & Foundry

Which emissions are controlled in iron, steel and foundry? +

Fine particulate and metal-oxide fume from electric arc furnace (EAF), ladle, sinter and casting operations are controlled with high-efficiency baghouse filters and, where needed, wet systems.

How is hot metallurgical fume filtered? +

The fume is first cooled / gas-conditioned to the filter media temperature limit, then captured at high efficiency in a jet-pulse baghouse.
