What is a Pneumatic Conveying System?

A pneumatic conveying system transports bulk materials in powder, granule, or pellet form through enclosed pipelines using air or gas pressure. Widely used in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cement, and mining industries.

Types of Pneumatic Conveying

  • Dilute Phase: Material suspended in airflow at high velocity (15-30 m/s). Simple design, low investment cost.
  • Dense Phase: Low-velocity (2-8 m/s), high-concentration transport. Ideal for fragile or abrasive materials.
  • Vacuum Conveying: Negative pressure pulls material. Multiple pickup points to single discharge.
  • Pressure Conveying: Positive pressure pushes material. Single pickup to multiple discharge points.
